After talking to Adam I comped up some suggestions he had and I think I found a good compromise for everyone. For the preloader I kept it very similar to what I had before, except I changed the preloader to be a black bubble with white text (like our logo). So once it is done the preloader numbers then turn into our logo. As long as we establish right off the bat where the user is Adam said it is fine to use the black logo in the artwork page so this could be a good way of doing it. For the intro pages I incorporated the video in the background. I talked to a bunch of people about if they would like to see video in the background and they actually suggested maybe just a slide show of images (artworks), instead of video, because the artworks are super pretty, but video might be distracting the fact that you are supposed to be entering your number. So that might be a really good way of bringing the artwork page into the intro screen. There is also an image of what the artwork page would look like with the black logo. Adam suggested adding a white outer glow to it really lightly just to have it pop out that little bit and I think it really helps (and plus we can have our black logo which is awesome).  One other thing that I took out, that I was playing around with before, was the possibility of having the “#” in the bottom right tool bar. As long as we really establish that you can enter that in the top right corner right off the bat (aka a bubble and having the top right thing reveal immediately when entering the artwork page) we should definitely be good. Hooray!

This is the final back up card design with the changes suggested. The second one just has the directions all in bold so it is even all the way across, just an idea.

This is what I was thinking for the “back up” card design. I made the type a little bigger and made the numbers a little darker so they stand out a little more. But I just thought I would comp up my ideas real quick:)

After looking over the direction the website has been going, I really like the white in the preloader that Lindsay created, but thought that the logo should stay more consistent with the black logo we’ve been using on everything else. The problem is it got lost on dark backgrounds. This is my attempt to solve that probem and incorporate the white that is in the preloader as of now to try and tie each different piece of the website together. Also, I think having it connected more with something else on the website helps instead of having it just floating in the top corner alone.

Looking over where the site design has come, the main site design now seems to have a disconnect to the intro (also, we didn’t have a preloader) so I decided to play around with some stuff, to incorporate the main artwork page into preloader and intro and also use more color. Heres what I came up with:

For Soundroom today my goal was to redo the filtering system at the bottom. The filtering seemed to work well when I designed it, but when we started coding it, it just wasn’t working (aka the text was hitting the edges of the dividers). So I redesigned that guy. We took out the “date” filter, since we are most likely going to be only showing the installation on 1 day. That gave us a lot of space horizontally. The big problem was showing the users the updated numbers when they drag, but also show how what each thing is filtering to and from at all times (and not crash into any dividers). I decided to create more of a “tooltip” pop up when you drag one of the nodes, that way it gives the user more of the sense of what exactly they are changing. Overall I like how it came out, next onto coding!

This is the start of my design for the card that we will print if we can’t get the die cut to work out. It would be best if all the design could be on the front with nothing on the back but I am having a hard time finding a good way to fit it all in there for right now. I will post when I have worked on the design a little further. And the card is the right blue, I don’t know why it looks teal.
